About Raven

I’m a relational somatic neuroscience geek - I observe patterns of people when they are relating, scan for behavioral patterns potentially eroding intimacy and love, and offer invitations of new patterning in the moment and offer homework to integrate new possibilities at home. I use my neuroscience research to offer different communication approaches. In contrast, prior to enering the clinical psychology field, I was formerly a coach for the Tantric Arts and acquired skills from highly embodied certifications and workshops. Although that work is separate from therapeutic practices, it influences my approaches.

As an Associate Marriage & Family somatic therapist based in Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Pismo Beach, California, I specialize in communication, intimacy, and relationship patterns. A specialist for couples who already know their relationship matters—and are ready for fresh new ways of relating that are embodied and scripted for easy integration. Couples come to me after they’ve been in traditional therapy and are looking for something different.

Work with a limited number of children and teens and specialize in those labeled as rebellious and defiant.

My Work Is:

  • Direct and honest — I start in present moment, embodied information
  • Somatic and neuroscience-based — works with the body and the mind
  • Focused on real-world change — what happens outside the session matters
  • Interrupts unproductive patterns in real time — offer feedback in the moment
  • Teaches practical communication tools — couples leave knowing what to do
  • Integrates intimacy and sex openly and skillfully — creates comfort
  • Grounded, candid, and human — down-to-earth language and approach
